St. Joseph Parish offers dozens of ministries and activities for parishioners of all ages to share their time and talents. We invite you to become part of the many ministries that make us a vibrant parish community honoring God and serving each other.

Please consider volunteering for one of our popular minisitries.

Adoration: Eucharistic Adoration seeks to draw us into relationship with Christ and one another through the worship of His real presence.  It also deepens our love and understanding
of holy Mass. Adoration occurs weekly on Thursdays.

Adult Formation: The Adult Formation Committee provides an ongoing series of programs and events designed to bring people closer to their faith through education, experiences and fellowship.

Altar Rosary Society: Organized for the purpose of caring for the altar, altar cloths, candles and sacristy and to promote spiritual and social activities for all women of the parish.

Altar Servers: Altar Servers are boys and girls of the parish who have received their first Communion, up to the twelfth grade. They assist the priest at Mass, monthly Holy Hours, Stations of the Cross, weddings and funerals and other liturgical functions throughout the year. 

Banquet Committee The banquet committee is responsible for catering parties, dinners, wedding receptions, parish events and other such events in the St. Joseph’s Educational Center. Committee members plan menus and prepare and serve meals.

Building & Grounds: The buildings and grounds committee has general review of all aspects of capital projects, maintenance, and repairs to the buildings and grounds owned by the parish of St. Joseph.

Cards and Notes: Cards and notes are sent to anyone in need of a pick me up. Sympathy, get well, thinking of you, birthdays, a special anniversary or a new baby are all an occasion to correspond with our parish family.

Cemetery Board: Board members are responsible for all investments and financial matters regarding the cemetery. The board makes sure the buildings and grounds are well maintained at an efficient cost.

Christmas Food Baskets: Each year a team of volunteers coordinates food acquisition through Second Harvest Food Bank and donations from parishioners and distributes it to approximately 100 needy families at Christmas time.

Church Grounds: General Spring and Fall clean-up once a year. We plant annual flowers in front of the Church and in the urns. And take care of the Virgin Mary area.

Collection Counters: Sunday money counters ensure that weekly contributions to St. Joseph Church are accurately and timely processed and deposited each Sunday morning.

Environment Committee: The committee decorates the church through the liturgical seasons and special occasions. This enhance the Church for worship during the seasons and feasts of the year.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) is a lay person who assists the priest distributing Holy Communion at Mass, to the sick or homebound. Thus, it is the ministry of bringing the sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ to the People of God.

Fair Booth: St. Luke Fair Booth involves a large committee that plan, prepare and sells food the entire week of the Warren County Fair.

Faith Formation: Religious studies and enrichment are available to all young people of the parish from kindergarten through eleventh grades. St. Joseph Religious Education Program shares in Jesus’ mission of proclaiming and giving witness to the reign of God.

Faith Share: Faith Sharing brings together individuals seeking to study, learn, share and deepen their knowledge and understanding about the Word of God. The group meets intending to provide preparation for the upcoming weekend readings and to be a source of support and encouragement for daily living.

Finance Council: The parish finance council advises the pastor about all financial and temporal matters according to the diocesan regulations and the statutes of the parish

Funeral Luncheons: This committee serves lunch for a family after the funeral of a loved one at St. Joseph Church.

Greeters: The Greeters welcome parishioners and visitors to St. Joseph Church at the weekend Masses. The greeters serve as an extension of the Priest in welcoming all those who come to share in our liturgy celebration.

Helping Hands: Helping Hands is a ministry that provides material goods to families in need, such as beds, bedding, household furniture, and kitchen supplies. Items are typically donated.

Hospitality: Hospitality plans social events such as coffee and donuts after mass, movie nights, dances, and provides refreshments for church events such as missions.

Knights of Columbus: The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic men’s organization dedicated to working for the Catholic Church and the community.

Lectors: Lectors are ministers of the Word, proclaiming the Scriptures at weekend liturgies and other special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Lectors serve as the parish’s lay storytellers of the Scripture, assisting the Presider in proclaiming the Word of God.

Linen Brigade: A group of faithful from our parish who take turns to care for the soiled linens and towels used during Mass and regular worship proceedings.

Liturgy Committee: The liturgy committee is responsible for overseeing the parish liturgical and prayer life. Committee members help plan Masses and special liturgies as well as giving input into the liturgical environment and music.  They also provide feedback from the community as to their concerns and ideas. 

Liturgy of the Word for Children: This ministry provides a children’s version of the Sunday Gospel to our younger children during the morning Mass. Adult volunteers assist the children with Breaking Open the Word.

Music Ministry: Members of our parish Music Ministry lead the congregation in musical prayer. Voices and instrumentalist welcome.

Nursing Home Visitation: This ministry visits residents at Warren Manor on a weekly basis for the distribution of Holy Communion and the recitation of the Rosary.

Parish office volunteers: Parish office volunteers assist with parish mailings, bulletin inserts and other church tasks in order to assist the parish secretary.

Pastoral Council: The Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners nominated by fellow parishioners and randomly chosen under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  The Pastoral Council is one of the idea centers of the parish.  The members, along with the pastor exchange ideas on how to improve our parish family.

Prayer Line: The Parish Prayer Line exists to take requests for prayers for special intentions. After a call is made, there is a telephone relay to all volunteers for prayer requests.

Prayer Shawl: St. Joseph and Holy Redeemer members join to knit or crochet prayer shawls and lap robes as a visible sign of God’s love and concern. They are given to those in need of comfort, in nursing homes, Hospice, homebound, bereaved, and those seriously ill.

Pre Cana: Pre-Cana is a faith based marriage education and preparation program. Married couples each share their own stories of life and faith on one of the following topics: Family of origin, Communication, Financial Planning, Spirituality, Intimacy & Sexuality, Inter-faith marriage, family planning, responsible parenthood, and obstacles in marriage.

Rite of Initiation of Adults/Children (RCIA/RCIC) The process developed for prospective converts to Catholicism, or those wanting to enter the Catholic church, who are above the age of infant baptism. Younger children are initiated through an adapted version sometimes referred to as (RCIC).

Ride Share Ride share helps those who need transportation to and from St. Joseph Church’s weekend Masses.

SacristansSacristans set up the church and prepare for the celebration of Mass.

Soup Kitchen Volunteers prepare a weekly hot meal that is served at 4:30 PM every Tuesday.

St. Joseph School The mission of our school, as a Christ centered educational community, is to instill strong Catholic values in an environment of academic excellence in order to provide the ultimate education of mind, body and soul.

St. Joseph School Advisory Board The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to advise the pastor and school principal on issues related to the operation of St. Joseph Catholic School.

St. Joseph School PTU The PTU helps raise money for school necessities.

Ushers: Ushers are individuals who serve to ready the church for weekend liturgies. They take up the weekly offering, invite parishioners to communion, distribute the parish bulletins and assist in the case of emergencies.

Vacation Bible School: Vacation Bible School is held for five days during the summer from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. This is a week of high energy for children to experience Jesus in fun and exciting new ways.

Welcome Committee: The Welcoming Committee provides avenues of hospitality and fellowship to new, current and returning members of the church. 

Youth Ministry-CCY: Warren County Catholic Community have a combined middle school and high school youth ministry. Our students come together for food, fun, fellowship and most importantly, integrate their Catholic faith into their everyday busy lives in fun and exciting ways.
